Monster Scanner is a fun app designed to help children feel safe at bedtime by "scanning" their surroundings for monsters. Your privacy and your child's privacy are important to us. This policy explains how the app handles data.
Monster Scanner uses your device's camera to display a live preview on screen during a scan. We do not capture, store, record, or transmit any images or video. The camera feed is displayed in real-time only and is never saved to your device or sent anywhere.
Monster Scanner does not collect any personal data. Specifically:
The app stores your preferences (such as scan duration) locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared by uninstalling the app.
Monster Scanner is designed for use by children with parental supervision. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 or any other age group.
We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how the app is used in aggregate. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and cannot identify individual users. The only data collected is anonymous usage information such as screen views and device type. This data is used solely to improve the app.
Other than the anonymous analytics described above, Monster Scanner does not integrate with any third-party services or advertising networks.
If we update this privacy policy, changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
